2020 Antique Red Malbec
Antique Red Malbec pays tribute to Historic Downtown McKinney, the home of our quaint tasting room. Similar to Argentina’s climate and terroir, the hot summer days of the Texas High Plains provide ideal growing conditions for the Malbec grape that thrives in hot weather. Cooler nights allow the juices to cool and hasten the ripening process. This superior juice, fermented and aged to perfection in stainless tanks, has mellowed beautifully as it aged! Our medium to full-bodied Malbec carries notes of jammy plums, ripened raspberry, clove, and sandalwood. At the same time, the palate finds lush plum, ripened raspberry, sandalwood, and cocoa in the tannic lingering finish. The soft finish eases you into another sip of this beautiful antique.

Legend Of The Ranch Story: Antique Red Malbec pays tribute to Downtown McKinney, the home of our quaint tasting room! When Lone Star Wine Cellars opened in 2003, most of our downtown square had antique stores and galleries. Although today the square has seen a regentrification of the original commerce—with posh restaurants and unique boutiques at every corner—the Antique Red Malbec reminds us of where it all began.
