2006 Reserve Blackbuck Antelope Merlot

The 2006 Ranch Wines Reserve Merlot displays a ruby red color with a slight garnet rim variation. In the nose you will experience a burst of red cherry and ripe plums and strawberries with a touch of cranberry on the back end. This stainless steel fermented Merlot (88%) and Cabernet Franc blend is medium bodied possessing soft and fleshy red fruits. Unlike the Ranch Wines 2005 Blackbuck Antelope Merlot, this 2006 Reserve Merlot does not offer an abundance of the peppery spices but rather a soft acidity and moderate tannins on the finish. This Merlot will pair beautifully with a hardy dish such as a lamb stew.
