2014 Whitetail Chardonnay
Legend Of The Ranch Story:
Texas is home to a staggering 3.6 million whitetail deer. Early on the Triple “R” Ranch and Winery protected a small herd of Whitetail, the only native deer at the Ranch. Today this herd roams alongside several exotic species. The most infamous whitetail was “Number 19”, affectionately known as “Timmy” by the grandchildren. This small, tame whitetail was brought to the Ranch for protection after being found wandering around a local schoolyard. In 1999, Mr. Ross crafted an oaky chardonnay, named it Whitetail, and shared it with his friends. Shortly thereafter, Whitetail Chardonnay rightfully claimed its territory in the Ranch Wines Collection.
The 2014 Triple ‘R’ Ranch & Winery Reserve Whitetail Chardonnay displays a day-bright, yellow-gold color. On the nose are aromas of the tree fruits, apple and poached pear followed by a burst of roasted vanilla bean and oak. On the palate are bursts of baked apple pie, caramelized pear, vanilla bean and smoky oak.
